Before you meet
Read the listing fully and check the other person's profile and reviews.
Be wary of prices that look too good to be true and of pressure to act fast.
Keep your conversations in WAVI chat as much as possible.
When you meet
Meet in a busy public place, in daylight if possible.
Tell someone you trust where and when, and bring a friend if you can.
Inspect and test the item before paying: condition, working order, serial number, match with the listing.
Check the paperwork for valuable items (vehicle, phone, land, housing).
Payment
Never pay in advance to a stranger, whether to "reserve" an item or for "delivery" or "file" fees.
Pay only after you have seen and checked the item.
The WAVI promotional wallet cannot be used to pay another user: anyone asking you to pay that way is trying to deceive you.
WAVI will never ask for your Mobile Money PIN or card details.
Protect your account
Never share the verification code you receive by email, even with someone claiming to work for WAVI.
Do not click suspicious links received outside WAVI.
Report a listing or user
